I was hoping to go to the masjid to say Shahadah today, but I woke up with a terrible cold and then I found this:
"Allh created some people for hell and some people for paradise."
Is this from Qu'ran? Or the Sunnah? It was on the muslimconverts.com site. Now I know why I have this cold and had to stay home. I need an answer to this. I am really upset!!! I left the church because of the doctrine of predestination. How is this different? How can the all loving and most merciful God make people just so they will have to go to hell? I don't understand!

Please help?!

Thanks for posting your question here. Kindly go thru this link

Sister, you may embrace Islam only when you are contended with it. You are welcome to ask any doubts. But once when we feel that  its the right religion, we shud n't get late to enter into it. You are not wrong with that questions. Infact when Prophet {Pbuh} said such, the companions of Prophet asked the same as you asked today. They asked if it so,what's the need of good deeds.

I pray Allah swt, that this link, shall answer you and shed the wrong understanding. Ameen

All Praises be to Allah swt.Smile

Allahu Akbar!

Be contended with Islam and only then go for shahadah. If you still have any doubts, you can post them, unhesitatingly. We shall help you get it answered, insha Allah.

peace to you beloved sister and friend!

i've read you posts on your journey toward islam. and what a joy i have for you .
i to am a "newbe" to the faith and went though the same.
as you have noticed muslims are not afraid to have our faith and qu'ran questioned and scrutinized . we invite it. so all will know of the truths of it all.
as a man i was hesitant at first to assist { as i felt there are others here more qualified } a sisters view so to speak. but my joy for you can not be contained.
We Must Go Though Doubt! We Must Question! how can we accept anything without them. it's when we pass though doubt and find reconciliation though question that attain truth within ourselves.
there is no compultion in islam, we repsect your doubts, god has his own time . and what and abundent joy awaits. we shall always be here for you at any moment.
while " blind faith " does nothing to enrich the mind and lift us up. "blind faith" simply states [ believe what i tell thats all. ] as you may have noticed also islam has no need for "blind sheep" we are human beings empowred from god with REASON ,INTELLECT AND FREEWILL a gift to us to find and know him better.
you are a woman, equal to man for we " come from the same soul ".  in fact i found in islam [all] woman are considered holy. not just nuns as in christanity. but you know this already.
love leland
