   Assalamu alaikum.

Today, 9-09-11 Muhammad Awdah of Al-Jazeera television interviewed Sudanese leader Al-Bashar. He said that with the session of the southern Sudan, the north with about 98% of Muslim population will establish the full Shari'a. However, Awdah did not ask him before the session the status of the Muslims or the various grades or classification of the Shari'a.  
Establishing the Shari'a was never based on population size- it begins with a group of three people. The marrow of the Shari'a is protection life, property, progeny. A Muslim country whose leader does not lead the five daily obligatory and festival prayers is not recognized by the Sunna of Muhammad as a Muslim country.
