Of all the religions in the world Islam is the only non-Christian faith that recognizes Jesus. Known as nab (prophet) and rasul'ullah (messneger of God) he was born miraculously through his mother Mary or as the Qur'an calls her by her Arabic name Maryum. In Hebrews 3:1 Jesus is called a prophet as well as Mark 6:14 11:27 among those who heard his teachings. His importance is not his role as a human but his role as a messenger of God. Perhaps his greatest message is his saying to the Jews in the temple which is a common saying in Judaism: 'Hear O' Israel the Lord our God is One, love God with all your heart and soul and mind.' Among some his characteristics we note the name "Jeus" which is perhaps the english equivalent to Yeshua which in Hebrew is Joshua which means "God saves." In Islam Jesus is known by his Arabic name "Isa." Muslims when mentioning his name always say (Alayhi Salaam) which means peace upon him) as he is seen as one of God's greatest prophets. In ahadith Jesus is mentioned as coming back to fight the anti-christ in the last battle. Similar to the Bible's chapter Revelation Jesus will come back in similar fashion and kill the anti-christ. The difference is that Jesus will come back as a Muslim who willdispel some myths concerning his person. Regardless both Christianity and Islam hold him as a icon as an example of true divinity through God. |

Same as the Holy Biblefrom which the Koran was copied
Take care Apple pie it is not terribly conducive to assimilate your elders acceptable or condescending view of Islam merely because it validates your existence as a non-Moslem. The Quran is nothing like the bible. If prophet Mohammed who was illiterate at the time God revealed the book unto him, had in fact copied the bible you'd notice no difference between the text of the Hadith ( prophets words) and that of the Quran which came from God. I won't get into the dynamics of its miracles scientifically or otherwise. Simply because it won't add anything to my life or that of the Moslem world for you to understand or not. each soul is held captive by its own deeds and beliefs. One thing for sure is acceptance of old beliefs is always far much easier than accommodating new ones. It is a scientific fact, if you don't believe me check with western psychiatrists starting with piaget. In other words if you have something of substance to say and can get into a logical discussion about it then please do so, otherwise I find it rather cowardly to post two inappropriate sentences and run off.
P.s the "sura 18) about Mary PBUH clearely states that all God has to do is will it be and it shall be. He would not take a son. I would also like to refer you to old christian beliefs that of asthansaius and Arius, you'd see in early christianity a great number of people viewd Jesus (PBUH) as a messanger from God not his son. You have ST. Paul and Arius to thank for the very evolved form of christianity
