In the name of God the merciful and the compassionate
The Qur'an is noted as the Successor of Books or Umm Al- Kitab (The Mother of Books). It is to Muslims the final revelation of God given to Muhammad ibn' Abd'ullah (peace be upon him). Historically in terms of human time the Qur'an is perhaps the youngest of the two other doctrines of the Abrahamic faiths but it is no less truthful than the two. I would however make this a long post but I would like to discuss this issue here in particular with the non-Muslims who venture in this section. I want to draw out a basic understanding why this is the way it is. For Muslims the reaosn why the Qur'an is the Successor of Books is because of the lost original doctrine/doctrine that may have been tampered with. When we talk about the Torah (The Law) we talk about the original laws given to Moses by God. he oldest known Torah to date is no later than 915 C.E. It is understood that the ancient text of the Torah was written in Hebrew, but where is it? Perhaps this is the same question on the Ark of the Covenant. The same can be said for the Injeel (Gospels). The Injeel is not the same as the New Testament. The Injeel is a unique doctrine in which was attributed to Jesus when he came. It was a unique doctrine in the sense that it contained all the sayings and doings of Jesus. Unfortunately this doctrine was lost many years after his departure. Therefore the doctrines that exist now are not the original ones that existed in the times of the prophets hence Muslims do not except the entire Books the Jews and Christians recite from. However no Muslim can say that these books are 'entirely' inaccurate but we must acknowledge the "taint" that exist within these doctrines. Please ponder on this subject.... Edited by Israfil |
