Assalaam aleikum, I am new here. I have been a Muslim for three years, and found that the more time passed, the less enthusiastic I became. What initially drew me was the hijab, but now I dislike wearing it. I have to fight off thoughts that Muslim women are oppressed and that the men have it so much easier. I struggle with Salaah as well, especially Fajr. I think back on my first year as a Muslim, how eager I was but now its just gone down. I don't know if it is due to my relapse in health. I suffer from mental illness problems, does this affect how a person lives Islam and prays? I don't want to leave Islam because I believe in the doctrines of Islam, especially the Oneness of Allah. I just feel so strange practising Islam. What makes it harder is I live in a Christian country and I am a minority in my Muslim community - I am of European origin and only know one or two other people of European origin who are Muslim, but I don't see them often. I'm a little isolated, so that's why I joined this group, to get support on my journey.

Salam, Do as much as you can. In Islam there is concept that nobody is perfect, so if you can not do things fully, don't left it, just do it as much as you can. Allah the most mercifull, and the bbest judge, He will concsider everyhing on the day of judgement, He will not paint everybody with the same brush. |

Yes, good company always serves as a reminder and helps strengthen against shaitaan (Satan)
Just remember one thing, when a non-Muslim accepts Islam, the Satan starts working on him 27/4 to push him back into ignorance. The Satan will slowly make you ignore small things so that it becomes your habit and you get immune to ignoring Islamic recommendations, then he makes you start ignoring big things until you are totally out of Islam. So Yes, you faith will be tested but remember NEVER LEAVE ISLAM, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS !!! Always die Muslim and you will still have a chance. :) If you unintentionally commit sins, repent and replace the bad deed by doing a good deed. Inshallah you will be forgiven. Just stay away from Shirk and try your best BUT at the same time do NOT make it too hard on you. And yes, try to get into the company of good Muslims. If you can move out of the area, do so and move somewhere near a Mosque and a good Muslim community. Your world will be changed when you are among Muslims. Things will be very easy to follow. |
