Heres another question: Why does it matter? Satan is the evil entity that is unkind to all of humanity.

Actually it matters lot.why?heres some food for thought because if you don't know the nature of your foe how can you beat him?for one the red skin with horns you see above is wrong.Satan was the head of the golden chorus.he was also the first angel god made.that means he is truly beautiful.more so than any other angel.have any of you seen an angel?if so could you tell me which one you saw could you identify one by name just seeing them? and if indeed the one you saw was Satan what is to stop him from telling you he is Gabriel? he is after all a great liar.

Actually, Muslims believe that Satan (who we call Iblis) was a Jinn. The angels do not have the capacity of free will and therefore could not possibly disobey Allah. Jinni (plural of Jinn), on the other hand, do have free will. "Behold, We said to the angels, 'Bow down to Adam': they bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the command of his Lord...." Qur'an 18:50 If you would like to read more about the Jinni, here is a link: We believe that there are many Jinn who follow Iblis, and they are all called "satans", what we call Shayatin (plural of Shaitan). The Jinni can take on many shapes or forms. So, satan, or evil, can be everywhere and anywhere and in many forms. Peace, ummziba. |

Kensaki obviously you slept through the class of Angelology. First off the Hebrew term for Satan is Sotan'ail which means "Enemy of mankind." Lucifer as the Angel you mentioned was in Judeo/Christian theology the first and Angel and the most beloved of all God's creations. Now the transition from "Morning star" (Lucifer) to Satan is thought by the Christian thinkers that the name Satan was given due to his fall. Now as Ummziba mentions the Ibliss can take many forms but since non of us has seen Iblis or Satan I would not say that the picture shown is an accurate depiction. I would say bliss or the devil resembles our negative impulses rather than a physical form. That is why I say why does his physical form matter? It doesn't. Quite interesting in Christian theology the devil who is/was Lucifer is God's enemy but Satan as a term by itself is the enemy of mankind which the Qur'an calls Ibliss. I'd be concerned on the form of God rather than the form of God's creation |

Satan is a description for a party who is opposing the governing ruler. The today's satan is called the "Outlaw" by today's government. God set rules - whoever oppose it called satan - that is anybody. |

Satan i such an ugly name therefore lt me test it with freebird's stament God says chips are bad I like chips Therefore I am bad, hence I am Satan although this sounds ridiculous but quite an effective type of logic if you think. If we do a minor sin, which, is an act that is against God's law are we therefore Satan? I would not go to that extent. Satan is a person not what people can become although some people in this world behave in that manner. |
