As salamu alaikum,

Dua can be made in any language.  However,  as-salawat al-khamsa are to be done in Arabic.   You're Egyptian so this should be easy for you in sha allah.

I don't think you have to take the shahada again.   I'm not sure what you mean by "deceiving others."   If indeed you've taken shahada you're muslim.   If you've deceived someone then at worst you were a munafiq but not a kafir.

You should probably consult an imam or sheikh about this.

You sound very sincere.    May Allah continue to guide you and give you ithbat.

Salaam

Bi ismillahir rahmanir raheem

If you did not believe in your heart that allah is one and Muhammad is his messenger when you said the shahadah then yes you will have to do it take it again.

If you did believe it but you dont think you were serious about the religion at the time ie not realy practicing then no you do not have to take it again as bliefe in the shahhadah is the minimum required to become a muslim.

the formal prayer such as the 5 obligatory prayer must be done in arabic, but dua an be done in any language and there is not restriction on what you can say.
Rasul Allah (sallah llahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord" and whoever knows his Lord has been given His gnosis and nearness.

Now if you have faith in Allah and have faith that the prophet Muhammed came with the truth then do a mending work, you do not need to stand before people and testify, your faith is between Allah and you. No need to be a groupie and get smiles from people who think their number is what counts.

"whoever has faith in Allah and the last day and works a mending work, then no fear is upon them nor do they grief"

Do not let the words of men on what you should do or what you are confuse you to the point that you come here asking forgiveness. Allah encompasses everything in His Mercy and Wisdom so do not be of the ignorant.

You will wonder who His enemies are many times but remember never act unless you can not do anything other but act, have patience and do not take the words of men over the words of Allah, wether that person is Arab or chinese, His words are in the arabic quran and His words are the truth, so seek guidance from Him and May your words "i seek forgiveness, I am terrible" come back to you in the future when you stand before His enemies by His power and with a smile of gratefulness for He has guided you.

please forgive my ignorant questions but:

What is shahada?  Is it something that is said or done in front of one's family and friends (masjid?)  at a mosque with an Imam or is it something that's done on an individual basis?  Is there a celebration afterwards?  I would imagine accepting Allah and Islam would be a joyous occasion.

Also, what is the difference between dua and the 5 daily prayers, and why does one have to be done in Arabic and the other can be done in any language?  Also when you do the 5 daily prayers, do they have to be specific ones or is it just whatever comes to mind to pray to Allah?  In Christianity we do both, we have some standard prayers like Our Father and Hail Mary and then we can do our own prayers.

Thanks

PS: To Ziad1234, I congratulate you on your heartfelt return to Islam.  Jazakallau khairan.

Shahadah is to testify that there is no god except Allah and Muhammed is the sent one of Allah.

I guess people feel the need for this to happen infront of a group, but i do not see the need for this unless at time of war over the faith, as in the unfaithful waging war against the faithful for their faith and someone turns to islam to make it known to the muslimeen so that they know he is not an enemy.

I do not see the point of keeping records on who became a muslim.

Bismillah,

I know some very pious Muslims who pray in English.  One sister made sure her children were taught the prayers in Arabic when someone could teach them, but she never learned because it seems too dificult for her mind to get ahold on.

So, Muslims do pray in another language than Arabic, and God, Allah, SWT, understands them.  You could put a board with the steps to prayer in front of you until you learn them, with the words written in trasliterative English (I mean English letters and Arabic words)if you don't know Arabic letters.

Al-Hamdulillah (From a Married Muslimah) La Howla Wa La Quwata Illa BiLLah - There is no Effort or Power except with Allah's Will.
