 Assalam alaykum,
 We, Muslims, have always had high regard for Lady Fatima, the daughter of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. She is one of the four (4) women to have reached perfection in Islam [achieved best and highest moral and practical examples among women], the other 3 being Asiya, Maryam and Khadijah.
 Imam Sadiq, may Allah be Merciful to him, narrated that "Fatima has 9 heavenly names:- Fatima, Siddiqah, Mubarakah, Tahera, Zakkiyyah, Raaziyah, Marziyyah, Muhaddathah and Zahrah." He then said, "Do you know what the name 'Fatima' means? It means, 'She is separated from all evil".

 So, Fatima was/is given this name because she is pure of all things evil and indecent and is epitome of all good things and beautiful.
