The man arrested on suspicion of killing three young Muslims in North Carolina described himself as an anti-theist and criticised all religions online.
Police said 46-year-old Craig Stephen Hicks handed himself in to officers in Chapel Hill overnight in the wake of the deaths of 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife Yusor Mohammad, 21, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/chapel-hill-shooting-craig-stephen-hicks-condemned-all-religions-on-facebook-prior-to-muslim-massmurder-arrest-10038126.html |

"The shooting of the three Muslims has been widely condemned across
social media, including by Richard Dawkins himself, who tweeted: How
could any decent person NOT condemn the vile murder of three young US
Muslims in Chapel Hill? "
This ***** (the killer) is, I hope, mentally ill. There is no excuse for this wanton murder. I count myself a rabid atheist. The most extreme action against religion I would ever be in favor of is the use of the law of fraud to punish the ripping off of gullible and vulnerable people. I was so distraught when I heard this news this morning.
Waiting to hear more details. I can not stand the idea of innocent people being singled out for such acts merely because of who they are... because of what religion they follow... what culture they belong to... I would feel the same if this was done to black, whites, homosexuals, or any innocent person singled out for no good reason. The last I have heard was that this occurred because of a dispute over parking? ... which of course might happen with anyone... any religion, any color... but you must wonder if the fact that these 3 were muslim (was it obvious?) may have heightened hostilities? I feel so sad about these 3 young people, and especially for their families. I fear also, what chain of events may it begin to set off, in a nation where muslims have been able to live in peace... muslims, Christians, Jews, atheists... all have been able to live in peace. Will that now begin to change? This is my fear and my concern. We must be sure not to feed hostilities... to not allow ourselves to be filled with anger and hatred for one another... that is how we defeat the evil one. We must educate and stop those who do... those that would heighten divisions between people... those who may have a revenge mentality and will escalate violence... this is what the devil wants... to see all of creation destroying itself... destroying one another, until war and killing fills the whole earth. Only the devil delights to see killing. asalaam and blessings, may we be careful to discern and serve only the desires of the Creator... and the Creator desires for His creation to love one another... to preserve in Love, what He created. This was a horrific and unjustified crime, there is nothing than can justify it. The gunman was no better than the psychopaths in ISIS or the Taleban, who murder innocent people due to their beliefs.
May God bless the families and friends of the Muslim victims of this hate crime, and of all victims of hate crimes all over the globe. Edited by TG12345 - 11 February 2015 at 4:02pm |

I couldn't have put that better. There is more to come on the story, though. If he was genuinely just "anti-theism" then to manage to pick Muslim targets in a Christian majority country seems improbable. There is more to the hate, or the madness. How could any decent person NOT condemn the vile murder of three young US Muslims in Chapel Hill? Richard Dawkins. (from the article at the link given.)
