   Asalaam wa alaykum,

Islamic investment is a multi billion dollar industry today. It begs the question why has Islamic banking not been as successful? Theoretically it points to a more equatable and sustainable system but practically the results have been dissapointing. The reason...the idea is solid but our application model is flawed. Therefore I believe instead of profit maximisation as being the goal of current Islamic Banks or Financial Institutions should be one of Waqf. Any thoughts?
