Sharing a secret

   Asalam O Alikum. I have a small confusion regarding a topic. Since we all know that sharing a sin is a sin itself. It is to be kept a secret as told by Allah and Prophet (S.A.W). However if we only think that something is a sin and regret over it, and later share it with someone is it still a sin. Even if that person helps us to overcome the guilt.
