If a man converts to Islam is it forbidden for him to wear eye glasses that have gold rims? If so, is it at least permitted for him to wear them until he can afford to have them replaced?

Seriously, Can the man continue to wear the glasses since they are not considered jewelry? And if it is forbidden, can he for safety's sake wear them until he can get a new pair? I know the Koran forbits the eating of certain foods, but permits it under circumstances of duress. Would the same principle apply to the eye glasses? I guess gold teeth filings that are in the back of ones mouth unseen would go into the same category.

" gold ....until he can afford "?????!!! 1. Silk and gold are forbidden in islam for men. 2.Men imitating women in jewlery and cloths is forbidden in islam. (not only gold jewlery...for example a silver bracelet is forbidden for it is used for women as jewelery although silver is not forbidden for men) 3.Gold used in teeth fillings is an efficient material, and if there is another safer material that would be used instead, that would be better..but that doesn't mean u have to remove the gold fillings!! wa Allahu a'lam.. |
