we evolved as ape?

and that all you need to know

Sister Angel the evidence is in the Glorious Qur'an

"And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (Saturday). We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected."

So We made this punishment an example for those in front of it and those behind it, and a lesson for the Muttaqin (the pious) (Surah Al Baqarah 2: 65-66)

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is addressing the Jews in this Ayat. The Jews from a village near the sea disobeyed Him and broke their pledge and did not observe the sanctity of the Sabbath. They began using deceitful means to avoid honoring the Sabbath by placing nets, ropes and artificial pools of water for the purpose of fishing before the Sabbath. When the fish came in abundance on Saturday as usual, they were caught in the ropes and nets. after the Sabbath the Jews collected the fish. Because of their disobedience Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala changed them from humans into monkeys, the animal having the form closest to humans.
