Some Muslims like to engage in dialogue that condemns the west. One thing we in the west can be happy about is that we do have the right to vote. Here is an interesting article about this issue: "Kuwait Fails to Grant Women Right to Vote" http://www.islamonline.net/English/News/2005-05/04/article01 .shtml It is sad that so many Muslim men seem to ingnore that fact that Allah, through His message to Muhammad, gave women the right to vote over 1400 years ago. And for those who think this should be in the 'Sisters' section: women's rights are everybody's concern! Peace, ummziba. |

I read articles about this too. It's very sad. But they will keep fighting for their rights, I'm sure. Kim...

I agree that women should have a right to vote especially in the Muslim world this is not only a topic but a priority that we as a family must be cognizant of. Alas we are still in the dark ages of Patriarchal superiority.

In view of where our privilege as men have taken us as nations,
I feel it is time that men not only grant the right of voting and leadership to women all over the world but that we surrender our voting rights, stay at home and iron everything we can lay our hands on. Just one question how do you get around the little buttons... I hate that. |

Most irons have a groove around the edge that lets you iron easily around buttons. Obviously you've never ironed anything before. Maybe universities should run "Domestic Engineering" courses in the lead up to this revolution you are plotting. Kim... who never irons anything
