Fragrances perceived upon the Prophets Birthday By Fariduddin Attar Translated by Abdal Hakim Murad The crown of all the kings is he, How would he be the Leader of the Poor, Because he had nothing, he sat on the sand; The trufted of Prophets, What more can I say? If the poets reward is the dust on your road, All Prophecy lacked the estate of one Brick, During his Afcent, heavens veil was rent Paradise is but a single Draught When his religion gave light to the world, His miracles Aftounding cannot rightly be defcribed.
