Asalaamu alaikum:

I have seen a rise of a new division on this forum, Eastern VS the western muslim.

It is very sad when you are attacked by your brethren for stating an opinion. And they personally address you and do it.

Hence, you will not see me much here in the future.

I have tired of this forum, and am moving on for the most part.

May Allah continue to guide us in our deen. And may all stay on the straight path.

The Prophet, PBUH, tried to set the example of tolerating differences and if we are to follow his example, then we should not fight amongst ourselves.

I remember a statement "There is no compulsion in religion"

Under a thread that involved FGM, there were statements that I made that were misquoted and some that were attributed to me that were NOT mine.

Sometimes we can get do caught up in quoting quotes and snippets that we forget the true simplicity of the real message and what we suscribe to.

Remember where this came from:?

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone."

"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds"

May all go in peace, and please learn to find humanity in the words that you read. Another great prophet stated in the Injeel "faith without works is dead."

Can you name him?

And for those who still persist on that subject, this is from Islamicity:

And yes, Allah (swt) knows best.

Masalaama

Bismillah irrahman irrahim

Assalamu alaykum

Sister it is sad to hear about your disappointment in the behaviour of our brothers and sisters. Sister this forum is formed with people of all backgrounds and belief systems. Thing is everyone has a set of values and as muslims inshaAllah they are coming from Holy Quran and Sunnah. Some muslims choose to keep almost every sound hadith and sunnah of Sayyidina Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassalam close to their heart and others believe that not all of them are sahih so choose not to follow them. The topic you are talking about, the difference of opinion was even between a teacher and student. But difference was only one from our situation, they differed about how sound sunnah is but never dared to discuss about its validity, points that we raise and in the manner we raise them and they were scholars.

Sister when a muslim tries to tell another muslim about a ruling, i am quite sure he/she is doing it with best intention. If we are only here to prove a point then we are most ignorant people, the whole point is spreading the truth of our deen for sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala not for personal reasons.

The last sermon of our beloved Prophet is so beautiful sister but have you thought maybe thats is the reason next muslim is telling you or some1 else something. 'Muslims constitue one brotherhood', alhamdulillah we do so maybe a muslim who knows rulings of islam has seen something against the islam law and only telling you because he/she wants you to know the truth. And surely sister all of us know this that we are accountable to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala who hears what our own self whispers to us so how can any1 with a bit of knowledge judge other muslims.

I hope you take some time and think about it and come back to us inshaAllah. It is a part of very famous hadith that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives those who forgive others.

wassalam

Say: (O Muhammad) If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, MercifuL

Dear Sister Maryah,

I am very saddened that you have decided to take leave of IC.  You are truly one of the sweetest persons posting on this site.  I do understand your feelings, and I would like to ask your forgiveness if I had ever said anything to cause you grief in any manner.

Please just take a break if you must, rest your mind, and hopefully, God willing, you will one day in the not too distant future, return to us here.  Although not Muslim, I do have the highest respect for you and the many fine Muslims on this site; otherwise, I would never have remained here so long.  And I am certain you have touched many others with your kindness and wisdom.

Peace be with you always.

Patty

As Salamu Alaikum Sister Maryah

I know there are a few threads where I responded to your views. If I have hurt your feelings in any way please forgive me.

This is a public forum, and as a Muslimah, I feel it is my duty to correct a misconception if I saw one. We are all human, and sometimes I know I do come across a bit strongly. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala bless me with a wisdom to be more tactful. Ameen!

I do tend to get a bit frustrated when we have clear evidence and others are trying to prove otherwise. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala forgive us our shortcoming. Ameen! Yes the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) was very tolerant we should learn from his example and the examples of the righteous predecessors.

Many a times I also wanted to throw in the towel, but then I realised that we all have a role to play as we are instructed by the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) Convey from me even a Ayat (agreed upon).

I pray that you will forgive me if I am the cause of your decision to leave and I also pray you will reconsider. Despite our different views, we need the support of each other to strengthen our Iman. As an Ummah we are facing very trying times.

Insha Allah I pray we will be able to agree to disagree amicably.

Wa Alaikum Salam

Sister Maryah: Salaamoalaikum
Let me state my philosophy on debating here , it is more like running in the special Olympics considering the state of affair of Muslims in this world. There are no winners if you ask me and if some one gets rude I consider it as a confirmation that it is the right place.

If the Muslim in the East think that he, she is winning don't believe that, they lost the real Olympics long time ago. They feel no shame for losing that rather blame the west for winning.
In reality their ancestors were busy debating similar trivia and ignoring the significant portion of the religion while the west or before that the Tartars were ready to run over  their destinies.
Trying to make a case of FGM, tells me why the Muslims are such in awful shape. These folks have their priorities backwards while living in Diaspora or those living in the colonial states of their countries!
This forum is already getting quite boring, with your stepping back it will be even more so, pl reconsider your decision,
thank you

As Salamu Alaikum

It is such a shame, here we are trying to convince a sister to reconsider her decision not to leave the forum, and brother SignReader mentions EAST and WEST.

How do we ever hope to achieve UNITY with this attitude. Whether we are Muslims from the East or West, none of us are truly following the Shariah in letter and spirit. Can't we just be MUSLIMS first and foremost.

Lets help each other achieve Unity not DISUNITY.

May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala forgive us for our shortcomings and guide us to the path followed by His Last Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam), his Companions (Radhi Allahu Anhum) and our righteous predecessors. Ameen!

I agree with Maryah. I just received a most hostile and accusatory reply to a post that was totally uncalled for.

I was right to leave this forum on two previous occasions.

Assalamu Alaikum,

Sister Maryah, you have been a very prolific contributor here, Masha Allah. I hope that you would continue visiting this place to spread the knowledge to others about Islam and other issues.

There is a term called "metacognition," which can be very useful, if applied properly, in the field of education or elsewhere in an environment of information ( knowledge ) sharing. That refers to awareness or analysis of ones own learning or thinking processes ( Websters Dictionary ). How nice it would be if we all focus here to learn to maximize our learning potential!

I like this definition and its usage as it commonly provides us all a platform from where we can grow. While embarking on this journey, it is better to be prepared that there would be disagreements on issues and we may not agree on some or many things. That doesnt, in any way, mean that we should quit the processing of learning and sharing.

Once again, it is a reminder to us all that personal attacks of any form, whether stated or implied, will not be tolerated. Please use the "report" feature to report any such violation.

May Allah guide us all.

Peace

Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
