As-Salaam alaikum, In ayat 43 of Surat Furqan of the Holy Qur'an, Allahu Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala says:-- "Have you seen the person who has made his desires his god?" Putting it simply, this noble ayat tells us that there are 2 gods in our existence, which we must recognize... one is the true God- ie Allah, our Creator and Lord of the Universe and the second is our inner-self (the ego), which rules over a person by enslaving him in/with desires. With this, it means we have to try and get rid of this duality and find the One True God... ALLAH, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. How do we do this? For a start, stick to injunctions of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, in all we do.

There are many other smaller gods mentioned in Quran which all should be avoided and only towards Allah should we focus
