   As-Salaam alaykum,
 In ayat 156 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an (2:156), we have read it where Allah Ta'ala says:--

   "We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return."

 With this, we have to realize that when we say: 'we belong to Him', we are declaring that nothing belongs to us- nothing is deserved. Everything we have is a pure act of grace from Allah, the Generous Lord of the Universe.

 Once this fact reaches our heart, we will then be able to break free from arrogance, pride and complaint...
