Stories of Prophets of God

Dear Imam and other members of this forum and website.

I have some questions, few days ago I was reading about the stories of different Prophets which are mentioned in the Qur'an. All these Prophets excluding Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) came much earlier and before Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) but the question is that why has Allah(swt) given so much emphasis to these true stories of earlier Prophets that He has mentioned them clearly in the Qur'an?

Q.1 Has Allah(swt) mentioned them in the Qur'an so that in case if any non-Muslim eg. Jew or a Christian, tries to debate with Muslims about Islam and other Abrahamic tradition, so that we can clearly discuss with them these stories of earlier Prophets to make sure that Qur'an also confirms to the earlier scriptures like Torah and Gospel?

Q.2 What could be the other reason of mentioning the stories of these earlier Prophets in Qur'an?
