Assalam alaykum,
Kudos to Brother transcript for the above post... a reminder to all of us to 'repent' unto Allah, Azzah Wa Jallah. And, basically, repentance is described as the awakening of the soul from the slumber of heedlessness, so that the sinner:- (a) Becomes aware of his evil ways and (b) Feels contrition for past disobedience. He is not truly penitent, however, unless he at once abandons the sin or sins of which he or she is conscious of and firmly resolves to never return to these sins in the future. If he/she fail to keep this vow, he must again turn to Allah, whose Mercy is infinite. |

Subhanullah. He's right. I mean, Umar ibn Khattab used to be a criminal, and look how he changed. Abu Dharr used to be a criminal, and look how he changed. Many of the companions were criminals and thugs, yet they changed and became the best of this Ummah. There ain't no excuses. Not even when you have a horrible past. Subhanullah. |
