I have a family member who is possessed and went to a shiekh and the sheikh stated that he spoke with the jinn that was possessing her to see what was her issue and the jinn claimed that other family members by name he called them did black magic on her. Now in this regard is it haram to even be calling out and speaking to the jinn and asking such questions and to what extent do we believe the words of the jinn and who the claim to have done black magic. Is that also haram as far as I am aware of jinns are known to be liers and we should not listen to what they have to say.
Is there any hadith forbidding us to speak or believe in what the jinn claims and hadith in the sheikh speaking in such manner to the jinn

Tantamount to asking do we believe the devil. The cause is practically irrelevant. Concentrate your efforts on cure, such as reciting adhkaar.
