Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad has a significant part in Islamic architecture and it is the best show of the beauty of Islamic art. But it is to be kept in mind that besides art it is a holy place of Islam. What we should do is to not only go after the calligraphy or artistics neglecting the real theme 'Islam' and putting its values behind. Islamic Mosque is the place of worship of Musims and nothing else is allowed to be done there except praying and reading holy books of Islam. Yes if there be some need one can stay there in a mosque as a traveller en route. It is not allowed for Non Muslims to enter the mosque except if they are learning about Islam. In Shah Faisal Mosque, Islamabad there has been an open entry to all types of visitors and children just as done in parks. There visit foreigners and tourists the mosque and do open moves and guestures looking very odd. Even it is said that pagan women wearing short dresses visit the mosque inside and do gossip with the Imam of the mosque; may be who can not stop them coming in as it has been the order of the higher authorities. Then what he does is himself stands and makes conversations with them. If it is a mosque its dignity needs to be prevailed otherwise it may be changed into a museum which may have an open entry to all. Edited by Mohammed Ilyas - 26 April 2008 at 2:48am |
