Lately I've been discussing Jesus Christ with Orthodox Jews.  I was quite shocked to see how deeply they seem to reject any concept of Jesus as even a good man, much less the Messiah.  It appears to me that Muslims have a higher regard for Jesus - even calling him "The Word" and teaching that he was sinless and born of a Virgin.

Unfortunately, in their Talmud, the Jews have written quite infamous things about Jesus Christ - accusing him of being a magician who traveled to Egypt and brought back sacred words embedded in his flesh, etc.  Also, that the Virgin Mary was really a hairdresser who was impregnated by a Roman soldier.  And one of their scholar, Rambam, has actually called for Jesus name to "rot."  I had no idea that Jews had these feelings about Jesus.

What do Muslims really think of Jesus?

Freedom is a gift from God - to deny men freedom is to worship evil.

Muslims have only good things to say about Jesus. We consider him as our second last dear prophet and extend him a respect that even the Jews and Christians cannot dream of.

If you ask Muslims about his mother Mary (Maryam), they will tell you that they hold her in a higher esteem and respect which is far higher than they extend to their own mothers. I cannot describe that  respect in words here.

Also, Maryam (Mary) is the only lady whose name Maryam has been given in Qur'aan. You will not find any other lady's name mentioned in Qur'aan.

Best Regards

bmz, yes that is what I have discovered.  Do Muslims also believe that Jesus is Coming Again?  What do they believe about what Christians call "the end times?"
