Asalamolaikum.
I have recently been faced with a dilemma and was hoping that someone here would help me clarify a few things. I am a sunni, and I have a few shia friends. Although we have no conflicts based on our views we have never opened a fast together as our timings for opening a fast differ(sunni iftar time is before shia iftar time). This Ramazan I thought that we would all open our fast together. I would just have to wait 10 minutes extra. But then I was told that ' intentionally delaying opening fast' makes your fast makrooh unless there is a valid reason. I want to know if my reason is valid. For the sake of a collective/unified iftar with all my friends, can I delay my fast by 10-15 minutes? I would be grateful for your help. Thank you. |
