Good post! In fact, when the cop asked what they were doing on my land, one "Peruvian" said they were following a rabbit. The cop pointed to the charcoal grill and smiled.

I believe these guys came OUT of a rabbit hole, followed closely by the Queen of Diamonds. But who am I to judge. Perhaps they had simply been listening to Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band?

EJDavid,

If I may say so, youre (still) a good, if somewhat problematic sport, in my opinion.  Whats more, if, by any chance, you did happen to foil the great American pseudo-Peruvian rabbit-chasing con, then I applaud you.  I did recall, after my last post to you on this somewhat wandering subject, that, at one point late last year, I saw a headline in a West Texas paper.  It was some rather serious disaster, perhaps a factory fire at a chemical plant, I dont remember the specifics.  I only remember the headline.  It said something like this: the cause of the fire is unknown but terrorism has been ruled out.

Yeah. Right. Whatever. Sure.  I mean, if the cause is unknown, how was terrorism ruled out, exactly?  Now I grant that plenty of us Yanks can sometimes be a bit slow on the uptake, especially before our anti-depressants and other CNS stimulants kick in and when we are distracted by our national pastime, idolatry, otherwise known as American Idol, but that headline, it seemed to me, stretched credulity just a bit toooooo much.

Vigilance!

I suspect terrorism was ruled out because an ex-husband of the CEO's second wife was found, passed out in his pickup truck, with a .44 magnum and bottle of Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey in hand. But that is only speculation on my part.

As for Peruvian rabbit holes? The more I look towards the Southern border the more suspicious I become of Mock Turtles and Mad Hatters. Rumors have it drug cartels now govern Northern Mexico. If that is true then "through the looking glass" is a generous assesment.

Sad to say, the English Speaking World may become a fortress unto its own civilization in the next 100 years.

Right.  I hadnt thought of it that way.

One should be suspicious.  After all, according to this article in Prensa Latina, just look at who might be moving into Paraguay (there goes the neighborhood):

Just out of curiosity, might that definition of civilization be elastic enough to include all of those (M-tv-beamed and beaming) Britney/MadonnawannaBes, wearing black John Paul Gaultier leather-coned braziers and blue jeans pushed to their pubic bone?

At any rate, and speaking of those English speakers who would seek a fortress, I just finished reading Peter Hitchens at times almost amusing lament concerning the demise of (the once-) Great Britain and its unique institutions under the post-WWII American occupation, The Abolition of Britain.  It was a good and at times thought-provoking read.  (He's no Europhile, either, and is not at all keen to submerge Britian into a German-dominated EU suprastate.)

Now, not to be indelicate, but the situational update, Peter Hitchens and Paraguay for the moment aside, concerning this Sharia law poll of yours (thread title), what say you and why?
