i am 24 and havent been to church since i was 7. i have alot of questions about god and where i come from. can someone convert to islam? is everything u hear in the media true? is it true if ur white u cant become islam?

Well you can ask all the questions to your heart's desire--Yes you are welcome to come back to Islam. According to Allah all babies are born in Islam when they take their first breath. Then they become whatever their environment turns them into.
The commercial media has built in biases by design against faith in general but Islam in particular . So whatever you hear on media needs to be taken with a grain of salt or rather lump  . It is very easy for a knowledgeable Muslim to pick out the inaccuracies very quickly. Then wherever politics is involved in reporting the death of truth is but certain; like mixing oil and water.
No it is not--Islam is race neutral and Allah says that this color / tribes are for identification purposes only: The following verse in Quran says as such: 49:13 O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). Peace |

ofcourse you can convert to Islam...don't believe whatever you hear on the news..the news media is always biased againts Muslims and their faith.. in Islam, you can be a Muslim as long as you believe what Islam says regardless whether you are white, people of color, black...you will always be part of the Muslim Ummah ( community)...and the difference between Muslims are their piousness, not the race they belong, how much money they have, the car they drive, the house they own..etc... |

well, what about haji? i have heard and read that most westerners, white men and women. Who went to perform this very important part of islamic faith, were killed or beaten. I want to know everything there is to know and understand islam and muslims better. Oh! and on the prayer times. are muslims all over the world praying at the same time?

I don't know how is this possible when Saudi Arabia is only country where are the most American expats working. And law and order wise is the strictest country on earth or rather too strict. Can you post documentation to support your assertion. So far I know the Americans are numero uno in that country on the food chain! I never heard such a thing, I met a white young Muslim from Michigan during my Hajj and his complaint was why everybody is in such a rush in the holy land! YOU MUST PROVIDE THE DETAILS ABOUT THIS WHICH I DON"T BELIEVE ARE TRUE. Yes people have been killed in accidents and that is different matter. BTW the Hajj is not an ab initio item, needs some evolution of soul to invest time and money. Not that it is someone will prevent. but you may need a cert from your local Imam of the Mosque that you are a true Muslim to get the visa in HAjj season.
You will know in time just like the child crawls, gets up with support n walks and then runs, sometimes stumbles and gets up and finally is on his own grown and all. Have you taken care of the things I mentioned in the reply to your PM? Have you gotten the books I listed? What is your time line to know and understand Islam and Muslims better? Can you be explicit what do you mean by better?
The prayer times are based on you local sun cycle consequently Muslims could be praying every moment of the day some where around the globe. You need to look in that after you take your first step not before. If I knew your city I can give you the prayer schedule or I can give the web address. |
