The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force shot down an Israeli spy unmanned drone before it could reach Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, in Central Iran, on Sunday.Iran military "An unmanned Israeli spy plane was shot down after it was traced and intercepted by the IRGC Aerospace Force," a statement by the IRGC's Public Relations Department announced. According to the statement, the Israeli aircraft was a radar-evading, stealth drone with the mission to spy on Iran's enrichment activities by flying over Natanz nuclear enrichment plant. The IRGC also pointed out in its statement that the Israeli hostile aircraft has been targeted by a surface-to-air missile, according to Fars news agency. "This mischievous attempt once again made the adventurous nature of the Zionist regime more evident and added another black page to the dark record of this fake and warmongering regime, which is full of crimes and wickedness," the statement added. The IRGC further warned that it "preserves the right of reaction and retaliation". It also noted that the IRGC alongside other Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic is fully and resolutely ready to defend the noble Iranian nation and state. IRGCs public relations office on Sunday announced that the corps aerospace forces tracked and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The IRGC said the downed aircraft was a radar-evading stealth drone which was trying to enter the airspace over Natanz nuclear zone. The intruding drone was intercepted by a surface-to-air missile, it said. The IRCG statement underlined that the corps, along with other armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is prepared to comprehensively and decisively defend (the country) and retains the right for any reaction and retaliatory measure. Less than a week ago, a senior Iranian military commander said Iran's air defense units keep close watch on the tiniest moves in the country's airspace, Lieutenant Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base General Ali Reza Sabahi-Fard said on Monday that the countrys entire airspace is closely monitored by the integrated network of air defense. Not a tiniest move will go unseen by the Air Defense Bases sharp eyes, the commander explained. In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems. As part of these accomplishments, Irans aerial defense has been able to build a big part of its equipment and arsenal by its own experts. Earlier on April 15, Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili praised the outstanding features of Irans new home-made radar system, dubbed Raasad-32, describing it as a great achievement in the area of detection and identification of different types of aircraft. As regards the important features of the domestically-made radar system, Esmaili explained that the Raasad-32 can detect the flying targets direction, altitude and velocity. The system is capable of transmitting the collected data to the Control Center from a range of more than 15 kilometers. The Israeli drone was reportedly struck by an Iranian ground-to-air missile as it attempted to approach the airspace over the countrys Natanz nuclear site. According to an IRGC public relations press release, the downed Israeli spy drone was a radar-evading type of aircraft and attempted to intrude into Nataz nuclear district airspace when it was detected by IRGCs air defense network and shot-down by the missile. The press release further slammed the evil act of the Zionist regime, adding that the move reflected the adventurist nature of the fake and war-mongering regime in its criminal history. The elite Iranian military force also reiterated that all of Irans armed forces stand prepared to defend the honorable nation and homeland and reserve the right to launch any retaliatory measure in-kind. Top Iranian authorities have repeatedly warned that any attacks by the US or Zionist regime force against the nation will lead to retaliatory measures far beyond the immediate region as well as wiping out of the illegitimate Zionist entity. - See more at: http://en.alalam.ir/news/1625964#sthash.fSaSlPN2.dpuf Iran shoots down Israeli spy drone near Natanz nuclear facility Irans Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has shot down an Israeli spy drone over the Iranian sky before the unmanned aerial vehicle reached Natanz nuclear facility. The IRGCs Aerospace Force has intercepted and shot down an Israeli spy drone, the IRGC announced in a statement on Sunday. It added that the stealth and radar-evading spy drone intended to reach the nuclear facility in Natanz, but was targeted by a surface-to-air missile before it reached the area. This mischievous act once again reveals the adventurist nature of the Zionist regime [of Israel] and added another black page to this fake and warmongering regimes file which is full of crimes, the IRGC statement said. The statement emphasized that along with other Armed Forces, the IRGC is fully and strongly prepared to defend the Islamic Republics territory and airspace against any aggression and reserves the right to respond in kind to such moves. Irans nuclear facilities have always been a regular target for espionage activities by US and Israeli secret services, which have at times used drones for this purpose. However, all efforts made to this end have been successfully thwarted by the Iranian military forces. On December 4, 2011, the Iranian militarys electronic warfare unit announced that it had successfully downed the American RQ-170 reconnaissance and spy drone in the eastern part of Iran with minimal damage. The RQ-170, an unmanned stealth aircraft designed and developed by the Lockheed Martin Company, had crossed into Irans airspace over the border with Afghanistan. The drone was one of America's most advanced spy aircraft and its loss was considered a major embarrassment for Washington. http://farsnews.com/MediaDisplay.aspx?nn=13930602001290 Israeli spy drone shot down by Iran - Crescent Online - Newsmagazine of the Islamic Movement The zionist regime continues to perpetrate crimes against humanity as well as other countries. In its latest attempt to send a spy plane over Iran's Natanz nuclear facilities in Isfahan, the IRGC shot down the so-called radar-evading spy plane. Iran's scientists are examining the remnants of the plane some of which have been retrieved intact. Irans Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) today released pictures of the Israeli spy drone shot over Iran on Sunday (August 24). Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh, Commander of the IRGCs Aerospace Division, identified it as an Israeli-made Hermes drone. The IRGC said in a statement that its forces had intercepted and brought down an Israeli spy drone that was heading to Natanz nuclear facility in the central Iranian province of Isfahan. This mischievous act once again reveals the adventurist nature of the Zionist regime and added another black page to this fake and warmongering regimes file which is full of crimes, the IRGC statement said. The statement further emphasized that the IRGC together with the other branches of the Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the Islamic Republics territory and airspace against any aggression. It reiterated that it reserves the right to respond in kind to such moves by any outside powers. The Zionist regimes provocative acts will cost it dearly. Even as it continues its onslaught against the defenceless people of besieged Gaza, the Zionists, in an act of brazen provocation, send an unmanned drone to Iran to spy on its nuclear facilities. The Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), Hermes, can operate within a radius of 800 kilometers and is capable of flying 1,600 kilometers without refueling, according to General Hajizadeh. Equipped with two high-resolution cameras, the Zionist spy plane can capture high-quality images. The Zionists thought that since it was a stealth drone, the plane would be able to avoid radar detection. Iran has developed technology that can detect even radar-evading planes, as was just demonstrated by the shooting down of the Israeli spy plane. The stealth spy drone was targeted by a surface-to-air missile before it reached the strategic location. Even though it was destroyed, some parts of the spy drone were found intact, according to Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, Head of the IRGC Public Relations Department. Iranian military experts are currently examining and analyzing the remaining components of the drone. They want to see if any data stored on its system can be retrieved, as was done with the US Stealth drone, the Sentinal RQ-170 that was successfully overpowered by Iranian computer scientists in December 2011 and made to land safely in Iran. The Islamic Republics nuclear facilities have been frequently targeted for espionage activities. American and Israeli secret services have recruited agents within the country (munafiqeen and monarchists) to spy on Irans nuclear facilities. They have also used other forms of sabotage, such as spreading the Stuxnet virus that was designed to destroy Irans centrifuges. Iranian scientists were able to detect and successfully neutralize its destructive effect in time. The shooting down of a zionist spy plane by Iran yesterday shows that the zionists and their American allies have not given up on their mischief and do not abide by any laws. These outlaw regimes continue to perpetrate crimes against humanity and against other countries. They will pay a heavy price for such criminal behavior. Crescent Online |
