There is a big difference between male and female circumcision: for male, it's even healthy to practice, and it will help him to keep clean and prevent female uterous cancer (these are some of the good points, but there are other more). For female, circumcision means removing the pleasure area and sometimes, can kill her. There are hundreds of cases every year. Please, use your mind!!! Female circumcision is bad even for males, because will remove the need of sexual intercourse from the women (it will not give pleasure, but pain!!!). I am certainly not advocating circumcision, and as Full of Hope said, when done incorrectly women suffer; and as you mentioned, it may even cause death. I am only addressing the assertion that female circumcision is un-Islamic, unless of course evidence to support such a claim is presented. By the way, I understand that when done properly the pleasure area is not removed and pleasure increases. Removal would indeed be mutilation, and thus improper. |

FGM does not increase pleasure. it tampers with sensitive nerve ending to REMOVE pleasure and keep the girl chaste, prevent homosexuality and masturbation. it is a misogynist ritual which women themselves encourage . guess women are women's worst enemies.

I'm sorry this is my last comment on this post in sha Allah. I deleted my last reply cos I felt so shy putting this on a forum not the sisters page. It seems like you do not differentiate between the Islamic proper way and the other way. Pleas read more about this issue before you talk of it. We can not blame Islam for other harmful things people do. The Islamic way is removing the skin that covers the female clitoris. Only the skin. This will never ever affect the pleasure. In contrary of that it keeps the area cleaner. What you are talkng about is type 1 fgm. all 4 types of fgm exist in parts of africa and middle east. it has nothing to with cleanliness or health. they all started as ways of keeping women faithful while the men were away at war or business. even removing clitoris hood skin causes pain during menstruation and urination in many cases. pl check this for more detais : http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/Print/779782.aspx
