woman changed the outcome of the Quran?

i was watching a debate on youtube with sheikh Hamza Yusuf on the Doha Debates. He said that a woman came to the prophet (SAW) and complained about the Ouran only speaking of males, and after that the Quran spoke of both men and women. i dont know if im taking taking this the wrong way or if theres somthing else to the story, but can someone who is knowledged in islam plz answer.
