I have the ipod which has how to preform salat video from this site.  For  Fajr prayer, it htink it say two rakah sunna and two rakah fard.  what is fard

to be brief as possible, fard means that it is obligatory (something required)

so what part of the prayer is obligatory??  the Surat al -Fatiha ???

 or the dhikr or the positions?

insha'allah, I will send you something this evening. i have an exam in the morning, so if i am unable to sen something this evening, then insha'allah you will get something from me tomrrow

Requirements of the Islamic Prayer

Muslims pray five Fard [obligatory] prayers a day. with each prayer there is a separate sunnah prayer [the word sunnah has many meanings depending on the context of the sentence, here it is being use to imply a non-obligatory but strongey recomended prayer] which is done beffore or after the fard prayer depending on which of the five prayers you are doing.


Rasul Allah (sallah llahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord" and whoever knows his Lord has been given His gnosis and nearness.
