Progeria is a specific type of progeroid syndrome also known as Hutchinson Gilford syndrome. Subjects born with progeria typically live to an age of mid teens to early twenties and is commonly known as premature aging. Some time ago a well known Scottish university discovered the gene that controls ageing and published the data in the mainstream media. I've searched for this literature but it appears to have been scrubbed from the net. Question what would happen if you deactivated the gene that causes ageing? My interest is in progeria btw. Peace

Some years ago Edinburgh university announced it had discovered the gene that controls aging. I've googled for this information but the LITERATURE HAS BEEN SCRUBBED FROM THE INTERNET. If they discover the defective gene in progeria then gene silencing might give subjects with progeria a normal lifespan. Just a guess.
