The only thing that is really shocking about the 9 cited "Facts" in the Quran is the heavy gaslighting.
'Iron was send down' - a miracle ? Just because Muhammad knew/heard about iron in meteorites or even simpler - just because: 'Iron is useful - so it must have been given by the Lord (above)' ? Hold on, is it again that an uneducated salesman could not have known about these things... ? C'mon, Iron in meteorites is known since the Bronze age or even earlier. In any case, EVERYTHING on earth came from outer space, including the building material of our bodies and the Silicon making your computer run ! Why didn't he tell the real story saying "everything on earth" - instead of "iron" ? This little change would have been correct without changing the Quran into a "science book". And so on, it is incredible how many people are gullible enough to get lured by these trivialities. Airmano

The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses (Albert Einstein 1954, in his "Gods Letter")

No. The Quran does not say that all of the iron on Earth came from the sky. If it does, then you will have to show me where exactly does it say that. Clearly, the verse (Qur'an [57:25]) is referring to the iron that is found on the Earth's crust in the form of iron ores (hematite, magnetite, siderite...etc)... i.e the iron that people have been extracting and using to make their tools and weapons... that is clearly indicated by the next sentence in the same verse: wherein is great military might and benefits for the people. it is not referring to Telluric iron (Native iron) that is extremely rare (comparatively)... only found in certain locations: such as Greenland... nor is it referring to the iron that sank to the Earth's core 4.6 billion years ago during what is known as the 'iron catastrophy'. Therefore the Quran is not wrong... it is precisely correct. |

I think you have shown a typical case of reading far more into a line than should be then when the counter point turns up you have to back track massively. Does the Quran ever say that iron only comes from the sky?

Thanks for your contribution. The Qur'an does not say that iron is the only metal that came from space. it rather mentions what was mostly commonly used by people at that time and in that land. Qur'an [57:25] Chapter (57) sūrat l-ḥadīd (The Iron)Sahih International: We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might. This phrase in the Qur'an: 'sent down' has been puzzling Muslim Scientists and Theologians for many centuries. The full meaning of it has only become clear in recent years (I think the 1950s if I am not mistaken)... after Scientific research found that iron does indeed come down to us from space in meteors. This is why Muslim Scientists throughout the last 1500 hundred years loved, adopted and excelled in all Science fields... Science is a tool that just keeps 'unraveling' the mysteries of the Qur'an for us... and I really believe that this will keep on happening for a long time to come. |

Iron did indeed come from space. Just like all the other materials that make up the earth. It entirely natural on earth. It is most of earth. The most abundant element of the earth. The crust, the surface only has a low concentration of it though, most has sunk down to deeper layers. Clearly the Quran is wrong if it says that iron only came from space. It is an understandable idea though. The vast amounts of surface iron ore deposits are made of iron-oxide. Rust. This needs very high temperatures to process into iron. The few scattered meteorites which have fallen from space more recently are a good source of decent quality iron which you can process into tools etc without the need for extremely high temperatures. All ancient iron tools and weapons, pre 2,000ish years ago was this form of meteorite derived iron.
