Assalamu alaikum,

Has anyone been watching the Live 8 concerts today?  Do you think these will help raise awareness?  Some awesome acts!  But, I do wonder if it will all do any good or not.  At least they tried.

For more information see:  www.live8live.com

Peace, ummziba.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but your words...they break my soul ~

Aleykum Selam ve Rahmetullahi ve Berakatuh,

I have been looking at some parts of the concerts and i think i find valuable for taking the cares of the G8...i support every kind of good effort for making the world more good(in the limits of Islam,at least i don't be an wall to them)...i have signed up to their list which will sent to G8...i bet Mr.Colin is at there...

Bismillah

Assalamu'alaikum.

What do you think of Kofi Annan's appearance and his "On behalf of the poor, the voiceless and the weak i say thank you!"...? Wonder where did he spend the night and what did he have for breakfast that day to have received such inspiration.

Nelson Mandela shed more wisdom in his recent speech dedicated to the event. "Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity, it is an act of justice."

It is by far the poor who will continue helping the poor...  but the greedy will continue taking from the needy.

Aleykum Selam ve Rahmetullahi ve Berakatuh,

God point brother,i don't know where he spent the night and what he ate but i know that he wears the world's most expensive suits if u  cared on tv...i don't think that presidents of the countries are caring as much as he for their suits...

Salam,

MOCKBA, youre so right about that.  I see this everywhere I go.  I think it's because the poor really know what it's like to go without whereas those who have much take it for granted and consider it their right to have more than others.  But this is not a new phenomenon is it?  Alhamdullilah that Allah (swt) knows what is in our hearts.

PAZ

Say: 'My prayer and my rites, my living and my dying, are for Allah alone, the Lord of all the worlds. (Qur'an, 6:162)
