The greatest question of all

Many great thinkers of our time and the past has always uncovered
various questions regarding the nature of the universe. Perhaps at night
we look up and wonder how was such a world created out of harmony (or
Chaos)? Or perhaps you heard your children ask you about things that
have little concern such as the color of objects or some daily activities
you occupy yourself with. I'm pretty sure you have heard the question
yourself: Why?

I make this as the greatest question of all because it is not only simple
but complex and paradoxical all at the same time. Such a word so simple
can be attributed to so many things. We may ask Why do people act the
way they do? Why do we die? why do we kill? And my personal favorite,
why is the sky blue? Harmless it seems, but I have seem many people lose
faith over this questionable word. When we question God this word
becomes entirely different in context where in any other case it would be
attributred to a thing tnhat can be answered.

Perhaps there is the answer to the seemingly unanswerable question of
"why?" When unbelieving people ask: Why believe in a God that doesn't
help good people?" I respond by saying that accidents is a consequence
of existence and death is a consequence of living. We cannot always
attribute everything negatively to God in the frame of mind that life is evil
when God cannot help us in our time of need. Perhaps there is a spiritual
deficiency in us that clings to the concept of God's helpfulness. We tend
to look at life not in its simplistic form.

When we wake, eat, or sleep we are living miraculously because in that
moment in time anything can happen. As of now while typing my heart
can all of a sudden give out and lose is ability to sustain itself. Such
spiritual deficiencies come from the lack of acceptance of lifes
consequences. We die because of various reasons, most notably we die
because we age and our bodies age and function begins to dissintergrate.
we kill because of various reasons, most notably we kill either through
emotion outburst or through power, or because of mental instability.

We lose faith in God because we need an object to blame, and though
God is not just some object God is always the one people blame for their
hurt. I remember when my mother was sick with breast cancer I
remember all the while that I knew I would not see her anymore. It's
impossible for me to ask God to save my mother because what was
happening is God's will. the same will be happening to me if I ever get
sick (God forbid) or dying of old age. I never had onced blamed God but I
sometimes blamed myself for not doing what more than what I was
doing. I of course know that what I did then was God's will at that time.

What comforts me is knowing that I can always turn to the Holy Qur'an for
certain aswers such as Why? When we talk about death God says : And
Allah causes to live and causes to die and shall cause you to return on the
last day. I believe that in death its quite hard to accept such truth when
we are delaing with emotional pain and the thought of our beloved ones
non-existence in this world. I too, sometimes think of that but I realize
that life is not always about family gatherings and love and generations
gathering. It is sometimes about pain and death and survival.

I think instead of us questioning God on certain things I think we should
challenge ourselves for the answer to those questions through
acceptance. This challenge in itself is thus because it is hard to accept
reality when we are living in it. Many scientist have done so by looking at
the waters and realizing that they are the sole reason why the sky is so
beautiful and blue.
