WAAlaikumAssalaam Sis,

Such good questions...MashaAllah!

Well, is the top long sleeved?

Is the top loose enough to be considered modest?

Is the fabric thick enough to not be see thru?

If the answer is yes to all three than "Yes" You sure can.

I love the clothing from that region of the world as well very colorful, practical and comfy. If you visit some online stores most of them recommend in the sisters size charts that to be in accordance with the Islamic dress code to order it a few sizes larger than what you would wear everyday that little bit of extra material allows for modesty.

I do wear that style the one thing I would suggest if you're ordering online to make sure it is full sleeve some styles are 1/2 or 3/4 which is fine if you wear it under an Abaya/Jilbab which I often do. The cotton is very nice in the summer.

Yes a duppatta is just fine.. that is the large scarf. It covers everything.. in fact almost twice..lol

under it just have long sleeves and long pants / long skirt. No problem.

Dress loose and comfy

Asalaamu alaikum
Just to clear up any misunderstanding:
A dupatta is a large scarf or shawl most often worn with a Salwar Kameez outfit. Salwars are the unique trousers, and the Kameez is the dress length top.
The outfit that often exposes the midriff is the sari. That is often worn by women from India, whereas The Salwar kameez is the outfit of choice for most Muslimahs from India and Pakistan. There are different versions worn throughout the southeast regions.
If I am incorrect, please let me know?
The only thing a sister exposes when going to the mosque is her hands, face and feet (depends on where you live)
