Conjoined twins brings Islam to a village in Cameroon

Joy as Cameroon twins separated continues as 400 embrace Islam.

Conjoined twins from Cameroon who were successfully separated at the National Guards King Abdulaziz Medical City on April 21 2007 are both healthy and doing fine.

The twin girls, Phambom and Shefbou, who were joined at the chest, abdomen and pelvis and shared a leg, were separated in a 10-hour operation performed by a 65-member team, which included 10 Saudi women surgeons.

It will be exactly one year on April 2008 when the twins were separated. As Cameroonians celebrated the successful operation and forgot about it, Muslims keep on celebrating as 400 has reverted to Islam from April 21, 2007 to April 13, 2008, in this single village.

Many families are embracing Islam every day in the village of Babanki, North West Province, Cameroon and an Islamic scholar, Sheik Sali, is stationed there to guide and teach them Islam.

Before the advent of the twins, there was nothing know about Islam in this village but today and approach to the village is signaled by veils and young beards.

Insha Allah, a mosque will soon be constructed and other facilities built to make life easy for the entire community.

When comes the Help of Allah, and Victory, And thou dost see the people enter Allah.s Religion in crowds,  Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for His Forgiveness: For He is Oft-Returning (in Grace and Mercy). Q:110
