Dear friends,

Many Americans who support Barak Obama fervently hope that he will improve our relationship with the Islamic world.  I read an article recently in the American press in which the author claimed that Barak Obama will be unable to deal effectively with Muslims because, according to Islamic law, he IS a Muslim.  Barak Obama's father was a Muslim, so according to the author  of this article, Muslims will consider Obama to be a Muslim who has rejected Islam, which is a grave sin.  Is there any truth to this claim?  I would think that Muslims would be thrilled to have a U.S. president with a personal connection to Islam, even if he has chosen to be a practicing Christian.

Thank you for your reply.

Sarah

"To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago."

Bi ismillahi rahmani raheem

assalamu alaikum

improve our relationship with the Islamic world.

When the man gets up in front of an Israeli forum and declares there is no Israel without Jerusalem as its capitol [basically declaring the next stage of Israels takeover of the Jerusalem entirely] there is no hope.

Well, I wouldn't read into it too much he isn't president (yet) therefore you should take that comment with a grain of salt.

i know he is simply garnering support, but good to know what is going to happen in the future or what the U.S is planning.
