Why is it that many muslims in america do not practice Salah? Also, i know that some muslims in america drink alcohol and/or smoke cigars. Is this act haraam??

Assalamu alaikum,

There are always bad apples. So don't to much worry about them. If you have power to influence them do that, if not pray for them to get Allah's guidance.

Drink alcohol is 100% haram. Smoke cigar is debatable, however for health reason at least not a good thing to do.

Thank you! I'm only 17yrs old but i m learning much on Islam and probably knows more than some adults. I want to become an Imam one day.
