I am a Christian trying to learn a little more about Islam. I was wondering what the proper etiquette is if you are visiting with a Moslim and it is time for prayer.

Peace freind

Participate or just sit down and relax. Some muslims like me, prefer to pray alone if not in a mosque. So just ask the muslim what he/she prefers

Bismillah

If you are not a Muslim you should develop curiosity, God willing. As far as the prayer is concerned you couuld make yourself feel more comfortable in a separate room with a magazine or something until the prayer is over and you are back in the crowd.

But "participate", as someone has suggested above is a NO NO in Islaam. The prayer in Islaam is not a meditation or yoga session and requires certain conditions being established.
