I am not now, nor have I ever been a muslim, however, I have read the Quran I few times before giving my copies to some African Muslims living in the USA.  I am in my late fifties, male, and had been a Christian Minister in the past.  I am using Pimsleur Arabic Course on audio and a free software program called Quran Reader to try and learn Arabic as well as a free website that teaches you how to pronounce the Arabic letters in the alphabet.  I thought about attending Islamic Services to immerse myself in the langauge; however, I don't know if I would be welcome and am disabled;  so the physical aspects of the prayers might be difficult .  I would appreciate any advise. I only know one Arab who runs the local gas station and I don't know if he is Muslim.

Yeah, no problem, just go - sure you will be welcome.  You can make the prayer in a position that is comfortable with your disability.

Salam,
I am sure that as a non-Muslim, you will be more than welcomed. Just go and attend Islamic services. As for physical aspects of prayers, if you decide to embrace Islam, then you can pray in any way which is convenient for you. Here is a Hadith to confirm that.

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: had piles, so I asked the Prophet about the prayer. He said, "Pray while standing and if you can't, pray while sitting and if you cannot do even that, then pray Lying on your side." SAHIH BUKHARI.
