Recently someone from Turkey gave me some delicious dessert called Ashura, which she said is made in Turkey frequently, not just amongst those who celebrate the holiday by that name.  This pudding was made from bulgar, red beans, chick peas, apricots, raisins, sugar, and I believe there were some fava beans or butterbeans in it, too.  It was seasoned with cinnamon and other spices.  I bought some wheat yesterday that I think is the right size, but I don't know a recipe, or how to cook this.  Does someone know how to do this recipe?  Thanks.

ASA:
rosewater is optional, and you can use canned garbanzos (chickpeas) instead of waiting forever for them to cook. Bulgur wheat is fine for the Dvme as I have to have this sent from relatives in Turkey to get the real thing. You can get Bulgar wheat at health food stores!

SmileThank you so much for the recipe and tips.  I think I actually found the right kind of wheat at a specialty store in Hartford, so I'm going to be cooking this on Saturday!  I can't wait!!
