Aoa;
Hope you all will be fine.
I have a question regarding Hajj.
My elder sister(who is widow and having no kids) wants to apply for
hajj. My another sister along with her husband also have the desire for
hajj this year.
they three will apply for hajj very soon.one thing more my brother in
law is our cousin and he is 38 years old. while my widow sister is 39
years old.
Now the issue is" can my widow sister go for hajj with another sister
and her husband" because some molana's at our end says may be she can
go and some says no.
so please guide in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Thankx

As Salamu Alaikum
Sister, be it a cousin, your br-in-law is anyways a non-mahram to your sister, is n't it ? What is the daleel that Maulana is giving, to say its permissible? Can you kindly share here.
One of the conditions of hajj for a muslimah is she shud travel along with a mahram.
I wish you to contact a good scholar and seek his suggestion/advice over this issue.

Sister, this is an extract from Islam-qa. Hope it shall help you
In order for Hajj to be obligatory for a woman, it is essential for her to have a mahram with her, and it is not permissible for her to travel for Hajj, whether that is obligatory or naafil Hajj, without a mahram, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: No woman should travel except with a mahram. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1862; Muslim 1341.
The mahram is her husband or one whom it is permanently forbidden for her to marry because of blood ties, breastfeeding or ties through marriage. The husband of a sister, maternal aunt or paternal aunt is not a mahram. Some women take this matter lightly and travel with their sister and sisters husband, or with a maternal aunt and the aunts husband, but this is haraam, because the sisters husband or the maternal aunts husband is not a mahram, so it is not permissible for her to travel with him. So there is the fear that her Hajj is not proper, for the proper Hajj (Hajj mabroor) is that which is not mixed with any sin, but this woman is sinning throughout her journey until she returns home.
It is also essential that the mahram be an adult of sound mind, because the aim of the mahram is to protect the woman, and a child or one who is insane cannot do that.
If a woman does not have a mahram, or she has one but he is unable to travel with her, then she is not obliged to do Hajj.

Aslaaam ALaikum
And beyond you need to ask the Saudi Govt... assuming you need Visas etc.
I do not believe you can go as he is not mahram. When looking at it myself , as they said on one form I read, unless you are at least 45 years old.

Women under 45 are required to travel with a mahram, a related adult male who is the head of her family (usually a husband or father), and proof of the relationship is required. Women over 45 may travel without a mahram if they're in an organized group and have a letter of permission from the man who would be her mahram.
