Major media didn't make much of the Sunni fatwa from Britain, but I think it's huge. It's a yardstick that clerics can (AND SHOULD) be measured with in the future......

Britain's largest Sunni Muslim group issued a binding religious edict yesterday, a fatwa, condemning the July 7 suicide bombings as the work of a "perverted ideology."

The Sunni Council denounced the bombings as anti-Islamic and said the Koran forbids suicide attacks.

"Who has given anyone the right to kill others? It is a sin. Anyone who commits suicide will be sent to hell," said Mufti Muhammad Gul Rehman Qadri, the council chairman. "What happened in London can be seen as a sacrilege. It is a sin to take your life or the life of others."

Bismillah

There is no doubt whatsoever on the validity of the above fatwa concerning suicide attacks.

Isn't it also a sin to just sit and watch people dying on the streets of Bagdad, Kabul, London, Madrid and NY?

Absolutely, that is why it is a good thing that there are brave forces under the control of elected governments to do something about that and to protect innocent people so that our children can have some chance to grow up in relative safety.

I wish and pray for this for Iraq, Afghanistan, throughout the 3rd World - where so many children suffer and in the US and the West also..

May the Great God/Allah reach down and protect the children especially in His loving grace.  "In Him we live and move and have our beings." Acts 17.
