As Salamu Alaikum {Peace be on you}

If you totally satisfied that Islam the way of life - then you shud simply recite out of heart -

"ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa allah" (I testify that there is no deity other then Allah), which means that one believes and confirms that there is nothing to be worshipped other than Allah and that one is prepared to implement His divine rulings and guidlines (shari'a) for all aspects of life. The second is "ash-hadu anna muhammad ar-rasool ullah" which means the belief that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the seal of the prophets (i.e. the final one), whom Allah has sent with the Islamic religion to supercede all other previous religions and that it is obligatory to comply with what he has enjoined, and to abstain and renounce all that he has prohibited and restrained.

There's nothing like baptism.

Stay active, brother,

As'sallamualaikum Bro.

SubhanAllah, may Allah reward you for accepting Islam and help you remain steadfast on it until your last breath.

Like Seeks already said - once you accept Islam in your heart, with sincere intentions, you are a muslim. No other formalities required.

If you wish to make this a "public fact" - just like Baptism, then you could go to your local Mosque, and make public Shahadah (declaration of faith) after Salaat (Prayers), and ask the members there to make dua for you.

Also, muslims here on this forum are also there for you, so stay active like Seeks said. InshALlah.

Yes, brother, you need to go to Islamic centre or any Masjid {Your profile shows you to be at Qatar}. So its easy for you to move to a masjid. You need to recite the shahadah { those testimonies mentioned above}, in presence of two witnesses. {Don't bother of witnesses. those people of masjids, shall feel priveleged to witness your testimony }. Before starting to any Islamic centre, take a bath, with the intention that you are purifying yourselves.

Dear brother,

Please be informed that to convert to ISlam(Submission) you need to believe in the Shahadah. There is no need for you to go to any mosque or any mullah and declare your faith. This is between you and your LORD ONLY.There is no third party needed in any way.And the Shahadah according to the Quran is La Ilaha Illa allah. There is nothing more than that. Brother, please be aware that when u add any name besides GOD in your testimony you(unknowingly or knowingly) violate the basic principle of Tauheed(Oneness of GOD).As can be seen in the below verse,God says that he,the angels and those who possess knowledge bears witness that He alone is GOD and that there is no GOD besides him.So if we are amoung the ones who possess knowledge, our Shahadah should be the same.Nothing more nothing less. Finally,i welcome you to Submission(islam).May GOD guide you to the best understanding.Peace!!

[3:18] GOD bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge. Truthfully and equitably, He is the absolute god; there is no god but He, the Almighty, Most Wise.

As Salamu Alaikum

Kindly read this :

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Brother in Islam, we are greatly impressed by your question for its related to the affairs of the new Muslims. We seize the chance to earnestly implore Allah from the depths of our hearts to lead all perplexed men and women to the light of Islam, the true religion of Allah. We welcome all our new Muslim brothers and sisters to the fold of Islam.

Coming to the point of making Shahadah in public, wed like to draw your attention to the fact that Islam trains Muslims that pubic and secret deeds are known to Allah. Therefore, making Shahadah in presence of witnesses is not an essential condition, though its preferable to put the official arrangements in order. Islam, as a matter of fact, lays more emphasis on conviction on the part of the person who embraces Islam. This is what really matters, as there should be no compulsion in religion.

Focusing more on the question in point, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and an Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states:

Strictly speaking, it is not at all considered an essential requirement for witnesses to be present when a person is embracing Islam; thus if a person declares Shahadah (testimony of faith) between himself and Allah, he is considered a Muslim in the sight of Allah. But in order for him to be recognized as a member of the Muslim community, he must declare the same in presence of two witnesses or before an Imam of a mosque who has been duly authorized to issue a certificate indicating the same.

It is, therefore, highly recommended for anyone embracing Islam to do so in the presence of persons authorized to issue certificates as he/she may be called upon to produce them while planning to go for Hajj or in case of any question concerning his Islamic identity. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, taught us that while doing things we should try to do them as professionally and efficiently as possible.
