Do Muslims abuse women? If he does then he is a bad Muslim. In Islam we look up to women and we don't look down upon them. The first to accept Islam was a woman, Khadeeja. The first to die Shaheed for Islam was a woman, Somayah. When Umar and Abu Bakr needed advice they went to a woman, Ayeesha. Ayeesha was a consultant for the Amir.
But the ignorant westerners think we lock them in the kitchen as if they are a slave. This is not true. We honor and dignify women. Have you ever noticed that when Christians paint the picture of Mary, she is wearing hijab. Why are all the pictures of Mary wearing hijab? Because they want to protect her dignity. If you painted a picture of her with no hijab the Christians would be angry. They want her to have dignity and respect so they always show her covered up with hijab on.
