Ocean homes a great deal of energy. This http://www.worldenergyresearch.com/ServiceandContact.aspx?id=4 - ocean water energy is present in three forms. There is immense energy in the waves of the ocean. When the wind blows over the surface water, it leads to the horizontal movement of the water known as waves. These waves can be a source of energy that can be converted into electricity.

Ocean water also possesses energy in the form of tides, caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon. The tides occur dependably and can be predicted many years in advance. As such this energy is highly reliable.

When the sun shines, it heats up the ocean water. This results in the difference in temperature of the surface water and the water below. In some places, this difference can be very huge. This ocean thermal energy can be used to generate electricity with the help of electricity conversion systems. The method of generating electricity this way is often called Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion.

Very true, but the technology is in its infancy stage, it will be years maybe even decades before it is adopted. But if this works it will change the world!

Perhaps it's time to begin wave energy production, now.  It's clear the world needs clean energy, and lots of it.  Job creation is also so important.  What is the world waiting for?

I'm from Victoria Australia and we're already starting to harness the power of tidal movement to produce electricity which is great to see.  This being said I don't think that one single solution is going to solve the problems we face.  Solar, wind, thermal etc all need to be explored further.  All I can say is it would be nice to see the government allocating more resources to the effort.
