what is the kaba made of? and why is it covered with a black curtain? I am just curious.  thanx!!

Ka'bah is built of gray stones with marble base. And the black cloth draped around it which we call as kiswah was at first in white color later yellow, green and finally it's standard color is what we see today - black. Why is it covered - well, something that which is precious and holds sanctity is covered, is n't !
