Hi everyone.

I am a new comer to Islam. I have been brought up in strict Christian based family and always felt I didnot belong within that faith, and since attending university have completely rejected the notions of Christian religion. I have no Muslim acquaintances or friends and actually do not know anyone Muslim. However I myself was always interested in the Muslim faith, and I want to know where should I start reading to learn how to pray and what to read in Quaran, and do you have any prayers online where everyone comes in and prays together. I would love to go to a Mosque in my area but I feel uncomfortable to do so yet, cause I know noone. So is there any rituals you do online and anything else that could help me to learn more?

Thank you for your help :)

Assalaamaolaikum sister. Try to find a local mosque in your area. Call that mosque and tell the person on the phone that you would like to go to the mosque, but you do not know anyone there. Also you can tell that person as well that currently you feel uncomfortable to go to the mosque, and if there is a sister there near your age or whatever that can contact you for support. If you have any questions, you can pm me. You can ask questions on this site, and there will be all kinds of people to respond to them. SmileSmile

Welcome new muslim!!! Here is an organisation I recently came across, one of thier goals is to help new muslims out,

http://www.taleefcollective.org/?page_id=37 - http://www.taleefcollective.org/?page_id=37

The above org belongs to some really active & reliable Muslim scholars in the USA. Maybe if you are nearby, you can drop by..

Apart from that, you may like to browse this website (they call themselves a virtual mosque) - also Muslims based in the west. A lot of good articles on Muslim lifestyle:

http://www.suhaibwebb.com/ - http://www.suhaibwebb.com/

Also Congratulations! May Allah ease your journey in this life and the hereafter. Ameen.

Salaam and hello and congrat's
Here is Australian New Muslim Association http://anma.com.au/ - http://anma.com.au/
Contact them for any guidance cuz they may help to arrange a visits to a neighborhood mosque etc!
or Try Goggling for a mosque in your area!
So far the online rituals comeback for any Q&A discuss whatever is on the plate to discover!
If you want to read Quran or hadith and the general information about the faith you may read IC's site contents, that will keep busy for a while!
Try mastering the prayer first!
You can pray in your place till you have some friends from the ANMA or get to a mosque!
