Saddam came to power while the Shah was ruling Iran.the shah was (unfortunately for him)an American ally and not particularly a nice guy but was an ally.You happen to notice the No Fly zones over Iraq over all of the 90s? 9-11 was in 2001 so yes Saddam was a problem before 9-11.Now if you had put the invasion of Kuwait instead of 9-11.you'd be right.

I learned of it in a college class on American Government. Our American govt has also assasinated south american leaders and caused great disorder in that area of the world as well. Don't get me wrong, I love my country but I love the Constitution and the Bill of Rights even more. and this administration and many before it have been no friends of those sacred documents.
