REPENTANCE
It is very much liked Peace be upon Muhammad and his family As he enjoins us to its lofty ideal We return to Allah again and again
When one mentions Allah Azza Wa Jall He automatically mentions the beloved of Allah Azza Wa Jall Peace be upon him and his family, he was used to, everyday Asking Allahs forgiveness more than 70 times
To repent is neither superficial nor easy Its a lifelong commitment And an admittance of a wrong done to someone Which is not forgiven except after making peace with him
The small sins as we know from Allahs beloved Peace be upon him and his family always Are cancelled with 3 istighfars Said in the way appropriate for this purpose
Repentance is greater than istighfar Muhammad insisted on both but crowned repentance Peace be upon him and his family at every moment Strength is not only repentance, but repentance is great strength

MERCY
That which is a part of the nature of humans That therefore is a great attribute of Allah Azza Wa Jall Which He seems to covetously withhold And everything He values He withholds, without a doubt
The goal of all and the motivation of each one The Beloved of God took all under his blessed wings Peace be upon him and his family Thanks to whom humans and all species are adorned with beauty
In the Book of him, Allah Azza Wa Jall explained In the Book of him, peace be upon him and his family The first words are words of Mercy, The Most Merciful, the Great Merciful Opening all 114 Surahs of Allah, except one The only Surah of the Quran that does not start with the words of mercy Is the Surah called Tawba (Repentance), which ends with the praise of Muhammad The mercy of Allah for all creation, Peace be upon him and his family A Surah stern in content and obvious in meaning
Look no further for Allahs greatest Name, it is the words of mercy About him who is the mercy for all worlds, as written in the Quran Peace be upon him and his family, he only pointed to Yunus Therefore do we rejoice in the Glory of the words of mercy

TEARS
Our predecessors in the past were accustomed to crying Muhammad raised these men, taught them, guided them Peace be upon him and his family, there were two lines Upon the face of his blessed Companion
The affair of it will only be that A sincere one collecting treasures for a Day that will come One great treasure is found within it Within one drop of it, within a single tear
What we say is the dua for the beloved of God Peace be upon him and his family, he the cousin of whom Spoke the truth, recited the book of him So that the priests and their king cried much
Muhammad himself cried before his Lord Peace be upon him and his family The Companion recited the Quran before him And noticed that the master was crying, peace be upon him and his family
Great this affair of crying Water from Allah Azza Wa Jall upon the eye Allah Azza Wa Jall made from water every living thing So that the eyes must be fixed firm on The Living, Glory to Him

WARMTH
Humans seem to be in perpetual need of it That the Messenger ordered us to greet people while we smile Peace be upon him and his family, the beloved of Allah Azza Wa Jall And the warmth and the solace to the seekers of knowedge of Allah Azza Wa Jalla
Some things human beings take for granted When they come to be deprived of it, they realize its necessity In this religion one of our weapons is firm will Beneath that firm will flows the graceful river of warmth
Muhammad has been oft-praised by many men Peace be upon him and his family, praised by the Companions and other men He is the one with the most beautiful smile, peace be upon him and his family And the brilliance of his smile has been mentioned
In a gathering of men for the sake of learning There are lights, without a doubt And there is warmth, subtle and unnoticed Hidden, yet precious, graceful and essential
Good deeds we like to do as Muslims Is to give warmth to others, blessed with it or deprived Is there anything one enjoys more than this We hope for great rewards from Allah Azza Wa Jall

FAILURE
Let me enjoin you to take caution For it will come back onto you With meanness it comes, with mercilessness It teaches a lesson to some and sets others in bonds
The Messenger warned not to fall to its clutches Peace be upon him and his family, the Master of all One can not allow himself to suffer some losses One must protect his dignity and enjoy life
Some say that failure is the result of heedlessness I say that Muhammad guided, peace be upon him and his family If failure is a tragedy mankind can not escape Muslims are distinguished for the perpetual success
Failure strikes at all ages Children fail, we have mercy on them Elderly ones fail, we learn from them Adults fail, we must not be like them
Allah Azza Wa Jall gave us an unbreakable rope to cling to O Allah pray on Muhammad and on the Family of Muhammad The one Allah Azza Wa Jall entrusted every single human being Up to the Day of Intercession, that most terrible day

HEEDLESSNESS
There is the kind of man who makes of it a dress It is written in the book of Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family That we ought to wear our best dresses at every instant
You would say animals in the animal world pay no heed You would think the inanimate objects are without consciousness Allah Azza Wa Jall revealed to His Beloved, peace be upon him and his family, that Those who were admonished but paid no heed are worst than animals,
Heedlessness should not be considered a sin For a sin is a sin, but heedlessness is more than just a sin Heedlessness is a chief ill A strong root of sins and a chief evil
Muhammad will say, peace be upon him and his family That though they had the book, they paid no heed For what they thought within them regarding the Book Their eyes are closed to the sunlight
Warning repeats itself, each for a different issue Nothing opens his eyes to the Remembrance of Allah Azza Wa Jall Which is Muhammad , peace be upon him and his family Thus punishment falls upon the wicked, always

VIGOUR
Vigour is a praiseworthy characteristic Allah Azza Wa Jall is the Lord of the characteristics and attributes So that an attribute of Allah is that He is vigorous Allah Azza Wa Jall whose religion is Islam is vigorous
The religion in Allahs presence is Islam He adorned the Messenger with beautiful characteristics Peace be upon him and his family, the beloved of Allah Is as the Beloved, vigorous, peace be upon him and his family
Vigour is intelligence and vision of His work If you believe that all comes from Him then you see Him For you see His act and you believe He it is that does it It is the Tawheed, the belief in the unique agent of actions
Those who are devoid of vigour dont see They dont know that there is a unique agent of actions His act is that Muhammad is His beloved, peace be upon him and his family The weak ones can never see, it is not permitted
Vigour is that of the angels, like Jibril and Mikail, peace on them At Badr, fighting fiercely for the Companion to see Muhammad guided him, peace be upon and his family Vigorous men of a religion that demands vigour

HARMONY
See how beautifully the universe is moulded The void as it seems is not void, it contains pathways Scientists of the world know there are hiddens in the void As to the sky, it is not blue, but your eyes make it blue
He merges the day into the night and the night into the day As found in the book of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family In other words the earth is round, though it seems it is flat Such harmony, when the round and the flat becomes one, to ones eyes
Just like the universe is moulded in harmony, one must live in harmony Muhammad the beloved of Allah, peace be upon him and his family insisted on it Excess of any kind is not only wrong, it is evil But take from every flower and make honey, like bees
All is harmony, the Quran and the Hadiths are harmony The Quran says that the words of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family The sayings of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family are revelations To the Quran we add 10 volumes of books of Hadiths
Allah Azza Wa Jall showered His favours on the creation When He created them, as He decided to create them For Allah Azza Wa Jall does not create anything imperfect, But everything is created perfect and balanced by the Perfect Creator

PRECISION
On greater levels there are no such things as minor errors Be it in sciences of the world or the select sciences of the religion For a minor error, the deviation from the trajectory can be great We know of a great virtuous man who would always reply I do not know
The Messenger of Allah is a Messenger to the Worlds Peace be upon him and his family, his speech can only be very precise Peace be upon him and his family, like a verse of the Quran is very precise Else Allah would not order us to ponder on it over and over again
He has counted them all and numbered them allexactly As said in Surah Maryam, and what would it be for humans That which is in the heart translates into the bodily acts One of precision in his speaking extremely firm when falling upon the enemies
It was argued before the great grandson of Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, the great Imam, Jafar as Sadiq That those of the household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family Had superiority, from Allah, and so we feel the power of their words
Generally speaking we do not speak very precisely It is not the way of purity to speak directly, bluntly We speak softly and we extend our mercy, as grateful ones That being precision of understanding and precision of expression

To Trust
Known all his life for his trustworthiness The master the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family In his book, peace be upon him and his family Allah Azza Wa Jall says about the Messengers they are trustworthy
Not enough that he comes in and moves to Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, this man wearing white with his hairs black is one trustworthy once, was seen written on his forehead Jibril, the trustworthy messenger
This is what Allah Azza Wa Jall and Muhammad expect Peace be upon him and his family, that we be trustworthy Not cheating Allah or His Beloved, peace be upon him and his family Not cheating Islam or the Muslims or all mankind
Those who fail those who trust them One can assume that one is trusted For one even trusts Allah Azza Wa Jall who makes the hearts beat The vileness of the betrayer can not be explained or described To be trusted is dangerous, unless you possess great strength Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family emphasized its seriousness To trust is an act of love, pride, generosity, and courage The hypocrites betray with agility, their punishments will be unmatched

EXPERIENCE
This the Chinese they say that as you think so you become because thought leads to character and habit, after process This is false, its not the thought but the personality
It has been said about the Beloved of Allah Azza Wa Jall Peace be upon him and his family, that he taught Peace be upon him and his family that experience unveils But what is behind the veil not everyone can bear the sight
It is not what you did or who you did it with It certainly is not the number of times you repeated it It is the personality within, that even children become experts In acquiring skills and ability, to the exclusion of others
Some acquire useful experience, others acquire negative experience For experience without success is not useful The Beloved of Allah Azza Wa Jall, peace be upon him and his family taught that humans will keep running, until one day they die There is experience which is neither useful nor negative For to work is a must for the Muslim If anything it is courteousness to Allah Azza Wa Jall And gratefulness, out of which ones personality evolves

BOREDOM
The Companion of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family Would only give advice once a week The people wished he would talk to them more often He did not because he feared to bore them
One may be bored because of excessive worship For instance, excessive learning of knowledge of religion But that is not the case beyond the worship One does not tire of Allah and Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family
It is only natural that humans need change Something delightful soon turns into something painful It is one of the reasons of the things in the world Things change and evolve simply because humans need change
How can it be before Allah Azza Wa Jall who sees the sinners He, The Lord of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family Never gets bored of them, the sinners He sees every detail at every instant and punishes swiftly
He who believes in the Last Day should speak only good Muhammad taught this, peace be upon him and his family Muhammad peace be upon him and his family, never stopped teaching good If you must be bored, still be restricted to the knowledge of religion

REST
Beware of too much sleeping For too much sleeping harms the body If sleeping harms the body then it harms the soul And if sleeping harmed the body, the soul was harmed, undoubtedly
Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) was accustomed to night prayers So that his blessed feet were swollen on its account Peace be upon him and his family who had other duties during the day Yet he prayed at night though all his sins were forgiven, as has been said
There is a Day that will come without a doubt The duration of which is 50 000 years Any rest for any second in this world, Will yield chastisement and sorrow on that Day
Great Ulama of the Nation of Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, were seen in dreams after their deaths Though all their lives were spent in worship of Allah All that remains of rewards were those of end of night prayers
We need to rest so as to go through the day So that rest for us must yield rewards If you are destined to the Garden, you will be prepared That place where no one rests, which explains your vigour and your energy

EVIL
Evil takes on many forms, not just 3 forms For truth is one and the rest and falsehood Likewise beyond the 3 evils, there are 3000 other evils But it all originates from the 3 main evils
Evil is doing wrong to yourself by cheating Allah Azza Wa Jall and Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, The people of Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, Must know that that is the greater evil Then comes cheating people and inflicting harm more or less great
Shaytan the great deceiver revolves around 3 evils Ones laziness, ones deception and cheating and ones self sufficiency Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family taught to fight the three armies of Shaytan So as to fill ones heart with love of him, peace be upon him and his family
Some evils when they rise high indicate st**idity The greater your intelligence, the lesser your evil Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family taught this Saying whoso surpasses you in intellect will always work more righteousness than you
Evil is not what people say and is quite often what they dont say The Muslim is courageous, not complacent to evil The Muslim is intelligent, recognizing nobility of purpose The rest is not important, rejecting the 3 evils is what is important

IMPRESSIVENESS
We worship Allah Azza Wa Jall to get our hearts purified Purity was the reason for it, if the worship was sincere Dedication to ones ideal is the reason for misguidance Out of which one worships someone else whom he loves
Muhammad the beloved of God, peace be upon him and his family Grieved and felt sorrow out of fear for his nation He warned us repeatedly, peace be upon him and his family Not to love the world but to love Allah Azza Wa Jall only
How many dangers does the human being face from dawn to sunset ? There are so many ways out of which one enslaves another Who worships him, as he is impressed by him The impressive one, who is either a liar or a coward
There are good impressive ones, the first of whom is Muhammad Peace be upon him and his family, the beloved of God If they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand I am still not going to desist from my teachings
If you love Allah, follow me and Allah will love you Whoso loves scientists becomes a scientist Whoso eschews evil becomes a leader to people And instills fear in the hearts of Shaytan and his soldiers

Islamic Poetry
Effaced are the abodes, brief encampments and long-settled ones; At Mina the wilderness has claimed Mount Ghawl and Mount Rijam. The torrent channels of Mount Rayyan, Their teachings are laid bare, Preserved as surely as inscriptions are preserved in rock, Dung-darkened patches over which, since they were peopled, years elapsed, Their profane mouths and sacred ones have passed away. They were watered by the rain the spring stars bring, And on them fell the rain of thunderclouds, downpour and drizzle...

Essay on a poem by Malay poet Hamzah of Barus. I ran across this in my reading and thought its mystical focus an interesting compliment to our typically empirical content.
